Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act
Basic Information
The Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a program offered through the Department of Workforces Services to assist teens with education and career opportunities.
At 14, youth are encouraged to apply if they need help with education resources, to explore career options or start developing employment skills. At 16, youth should apply and start looking towards higher education goals and career goals.

Amount: Up to $5,000 per year
For whom: Youth age 14-24 who need additional assistance

Can Spend On:
Education Training Voucher (ETV) funds for higher education and career exploration – paid internships
Funds Available to help with educational and training expenses
Driver’s Education courses and license
How $ is Awarded: Funding paid to a prepaid debit card

Are you a refugee?
Did you drop out?
Do you have a disability?
Are you pregnant or parenting?
Are you experiencing homelessness?
Do you suffer from substance or domestic abuse?
Are you Native American?
Have an incarcerated parent?
Do you have a criminal offense?
Have attendance issues while completing high school?
